Welcome to Self-Pub Fest. It’s open to everyone (readers and un/published writers) everywhere in the world! And there’s no charge unless you’re purchasing a £10 in-person ticket (see the In-Person section at the bottom of this page).

Online: 30-45 minute (twice a week) or all-day (every other month) Zoom sessions recorded for YouTube. All the live sessions can take up to 300 attendees in the chat, commenting on what’s being discussed and/or asking questions.

In-Person: twice-yearly all-day festivals in Aylesbury, Bucks.

There’s a new page for anyone not confident enough in English (or generally) to take part in the Zoom sessions. 

If you would like to take part in Zoom sessions and are a…

  • traditionally published author with no self-published books ~ you’re welcome to take part in anything online (see below); or
  • self-published author (or traditionally published with at least one self-published book) ~ you’re welcome to take part online and in-person (see below); and/or
  • genuine expert who provides genuine services to authors ~ you’re welcome to take part online and potentially in-person (see below); and/or
  • local to Aylesbury and would like to volunteer (on our reception, in the bookshop, with photography, general assistance etc.);

The stages are:

  • If we’ve not met before, we have a quick Zoom chat. I’ll send you the link to book when you enquire.
  • You send me the completed author/expert form together with your picture and book cover/s (as jpg ideally, and attachments not embedded into the author form or email) then I build your page on this website ~ Dave Sivers is a good example.
  • You’re then welcome to take part in anything below.

Author/Expert Spotlights: a chat about your journey as a writer from the first thing you wrote (e.g. at/before school) to what you’re working on next. Looking at any of the recordings on the Spotlights page will give you a good idea. To-date these have run anywere from 23 minutes (Karl W Newton) to 2 hours and 23 minutes (David Wake)! Alternatively if you’re a genuine author service provider we talk about your journey and clients.

Tell Us About Your… Books: (ideally) having done the spotlight we then talk about your books individually. Click on the red link above to see what’s what, and watch previous recordings.

Tell Us About Your… Service: instead of a spotlight, we can talk about you and your service as part of this feature.

Online ~ Mini-fests: these take place twice most weeks…

  • Monday at 12pm (noon UK time) ~ see Monday MMFs; and
  • Tuesday or Thursday evenings at 6.30pm ~ see T&T Panels.

Online – ALL DAY run the second Sunday bi-monthly, the next being 8th November 2026

  • If Aylesbury, England, is too far to travel (see below for those) then you’re welcome to apply to take part in the online all-day festivals. These take place via Zoom from the comfort of your home. Entry is free of charge but donations welcome.
  • All the panels lasts an hour from 9.30am with a half-hour break for me to download the previous session and have a mini-break with the last session running until 6pm when I shall be a puddle!

In Person (last Sunday in April & first Sunday in Oct)
(Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England)

  • If you live in the UK, or are willing to travel to Aylesbury for the April or October sessions and are accepted onto one of the panels (with the potential of being a moderator on another), you will be offered a free +1 ticket so you can bring a person with you.
  • If you’re not on a panel you’re welcome to buy a ticket and have your marketing material (a stack of single bookmarks and/or a stack of single flyers up to A5 size) on the marketing table.
  • I’m taking interest for the Sunday 25th April 2027 Festival until the end of November 2026 and I hope to announce the programme by the end of the year.
  • The venue capacity is 120 so with the authors, some family and volunteers, there will be up to 80 tickets available.
  • The cost is £10 for an all-day ticket including EventBrite fee. If you’re an author not appearing on a panel you’re welcome to have your marketing materials (a stack of A5 flyers and/or bookmarks) on a table in the foyer. While you wouldn’t have your books in the bookshop unless you’re on a panel, you’re welcome to have them in your car in case anyone wants to buy one… that’s between you and your reader.
  • Regardless of whether you’re on a panel or ticket holder, we take no commission so you would receive 100% of your cover price.
