If you go on Instagram (or other platforms) and search for ‘blog tour’ you’ll find loads of other authors’ blog tour posters and quite possibly other tour operators but there are a lot of scammers out there so ideally you’d only go with ones who look successful, perhaps one who specialises in non-fiction as they will be different bloggers to fiction.
The charge shouldn’t be too high (£60-£100?) depending on how many ‘stops’, bloggers, and for how many days, the tour will cover, as you’re paying for the operator’s time. Hopefully you’ll only need to send out the eBook (pdf most likely) but it’s worth looking into it before then and making contact. Having to send out 3 to 30 books would be expensive!
The process: you would send your eBook, book cover, author photo and biography to the blog tour operator and agree the dates the tour will take place. They will arrange directly with the book bloggers and keep you informed at every stage. When the day comes and the review goes live you’ll be given the relevant website link to share on social media, which hopefully the operator and bloggers will also do. Most tour operators will create tour posters for you but it’s worth checking. You can share this on your social media.
The wonderful things about blog tours are the (relatively) low cost, the operator does the work for you, new readers find you, and you can use quotes from the glowing (hopefully) reviews on your future book covers, social media etc.
