Tickets to the online events are FREE but we do invite you to donate via the QR code below or the donation page. You’re welcome to donate £1, £5 or select your preferred amount. ALL donations – minus the PayPal fee – go to the charities below.
Tickets to the in-person events are £20 for the full day (9am to 6pm – seven events plus lunchtime workshop/Q&A) or £10 for the morning (three sessions then lunchtime workshop/Q&A) or the afternoon (lunchtime workshop/Q&A then three sessions).
All the profits (tickets sales minus expenses such as venue hire, lanyards, marketing materials) from the events – plus any donations given – will be split between the following three charities. I’m hoping to raise approximately £200 per charity per year (hopefully more!):

BeaconLit Book Festival
BeaconLit, the Big Little Book Festival, held annually in July (Saturday 11th 2026), is about more than just books.
Community is at our centre, with volunteers working throughout the year to create an event-filled day for everyone to enjoy. All profits from BeaconLit go to the Beacon Villages Community Library.
Morgen has been involved with BeaconLit since its creation. BeaconLit began life in 2013 as a half-day book festival, squeezed into Ivinghoe Summer Festival’s marquee on Ivinghoe Lawn.
Our purpose was, and remains, to raise much needed funds for the library that serves the village communities surrounding Ivinghoe Beacon in the Chilterns. The festival website helps with this publicity.
That small festival spawned a full-day event that has taken place every year apart from 2020. We are run and staffed entirely by volunteers, and perhaps it’s this local pulling together that creates the warm, village atmosphere that authors and audiences alike seem to love.
At the same time, we are proud of our reputation as a high quality event that attracts best sellers, exciting new authors, and a wealth of eclectic talent from the book world. From panels, interviews, poetry circles an workshops, there’s something for everyone. So, if you love literature, you’re sure to love BeaconLit!
Third Charity
There will be a different third charity benefitting from Self-Pub Fest each year. For the whole of 2026, I’m delighted that it will be Haddenham Community Library. They say:
We’ve been operating as a local independent charity since 2012 and we are located right at the heart of the village of Haddenham. We provide a bright and welcoming unique space for connecting and learning, offering services to all sections of the community. We offer the traditional services of a public library together with free access to a wide range of information, use of public computers, recreational activities and e-learning opportunities. Our library is accessible, welcoming and family friendly. Our manager and a team of volunteers are just waiting to help you! You don’t have to be member of the library to enjoy what we offer and our services are open to everyone.
Our key donor is Haddenham Parish Council. We receive a small monetary contribution from Buckinghamshire Council as well as donations from a variety of village organisations including the Village Fete, Haddenham Diwali, Haddenham Beer Festival Trust, Haddenham Lodge No 8944, Haddenham Lodge No 1629 and Haddenham Mummers.
As a charity there is an ongoing need to find funds to cover overheads and maintain reserves and allow for future investment in HCL’s services. The Trustees would like to thank all the organisations without whose generous contributions it would not be possible to maintain a library service in Haddenham. We also partner with other local organisations to provide mutually beneficial services to our local communities.
