Self-Pub Fest is a quarterly non-profit book festival celebrating self-published authors.
The first Self-Pub Fest online took place Sunday 25th January 2026, then every six months, the next date being 5th July 2026. They will repeat on the last Sunday in January then the first Sunday in July.
The January festivals include seven author panels, plus a lunchtime workshop or discussion on ideas and general Q&A. The July will be a mix of author panels and talks by publishing ‘experts’ including cover designers, editors, illustrators, website designers and publishers. If you’re one of these, do let me know!
The online festivals will be held via individual hourly Zoom genre panels with up to six authors in each panel. See below for dates and the 25 Jan 2026 Festival page for timings.
In between we have mini-fest events. Forthcoming dates will be listed on the Mini-fest page and when the recordings are ready they’ll be uploaded to YouTube and embedded on the relevant dated and authors’ pages.
Entry is FREE ~ see the Tickets page.
The ‘in person’ festivals will be held at The Holiday Inn, on the corner of New Road / Aston Clinton Road, Aylesbury HP22 5QT. There will be also be a bookshop at this venue for authors to sell their books… and receive 100% of the agreed cover price. Any card fees will come out of ticket sales.
The April panels will be the same as the only January panels although there will be four authors per panel – including a moderator – whereas online we will have up to six. The October in-persons will be a mix of three author panels and four expert panels, making up the seven, with a workshop by yours truly at 1pm followed by a short mixed author Q&A.
See In Person (Apr/Oct) for details.

Morgen is the main organiser but is joined by an unofficial committee of three crime authors on hand to help: Dave Sivers; Denise Beddows; Donna Morfett. You will meet them at most of the festivals. 🙂
