Johan M Raubal was born in Sweden and has lived in the UK for many years. He came to fiction later in life, after a long career in consulting and technology, and discovered in the process that he had been storing up stories for decades without quite knowing it.
He writes about people, and particularly about the things that happen between them. The things they do not say. The decisions that seem insignificant at the time and consequential only much later. The people they notice, the people they miss, and the moments that change something before anyone quite realises it has changed.
His fiction explores intimacy, vulnerability and meaningful connection, with a particular interest in what it means to be seen and chosen. He lives in the UK with his wife and son.
Gentle Orbit (due to be released October 2026)
Some people spend a lifetime orbiting each other before they understand what they mean.
Michael Hartley and Anna Fitzgerald meet on a beach when they’re young, unencumbered at the beginning of everything. What passes between them that afternoon–a walk, an ice cream, a conversation that runs longer than it should, is enough to matter. Not enough, yet, to change anything. What follows is 18 years.
What if love could be safe, equal, and still take your breath away?
Hannah has lived small–wanted, but never truly known. John has stepped away–convinced the cost of love is too high. Both carry their silences. Both mirror the choices so many make today. When they meet, there are no fireworks. Only a quiet shift–two lives moving closer. In the pauses of the ordinary days, they discover what it means to be cherished, not consumed; to risk again and to be seen at last.
In an age of relentless change, leadership requires more than quick fixes. It demands clarity, courage, and the strength to stay the course. Stay the Course – Leadership in Transformative Times explores what it truly means to lead when the world around you is changing. Drawing on real-world examples, Johan Raubal shows how leaders can hold fast to their values without becoming rigid, inspire trust without bravado, and guide organisations through change without losing sight of what matters most.
