My favourite statistic is 300 words a day = 109,500 words a non-leap-year day.

I host a Podcast of the same name (300 Words a Day) where I provide a daily writing tip then break it down into who, what, where, when, why and how. At the time of writing this (Saturday 28th March 2026) there were over 230 episodes. Each series will run 300 episodes so I’m not far off preparing for season two!

I’m also running a competition with submissions of up to 300 words. I currently run a free 50-word (exactly) competition where I offer free editing, mentoring and/or online courses as prizes.

The 300-word competition will incur a fee as I want to raise money for the three Charities. £3 for a single entry or £5 for two entries, with a 50% prize pot, 50% to charity (minus PayPal fees).
