Ryan Stark

Ryan Stark is a crime and thriller author based in the Midlands, UK, known for creating gripping stories that combine dark, character-driven detective fiction with fast-paced, suspenseful thrillers.

He is the author of two popular series: the Daley and Whetstone Crime Stories, a series of British Detective novels, and the Aidan Beckett international crime thrillers.

Ryan’s books have attracted a growing and dedicated readership among crime fiction enthusiasts who appreciate his unique blend of dark tones, sharp wit, and well-drawn characters.

His Daley and Whetstone series includes Killing by the Book, The Farm, Unnatural Selection, and An Invisible Murder, while his Amber Rock thrillers include Proof of Life, Proof of Death, and the forthcoming Proof of Betrayal.

Across both series, Ryan explores themes of revenge, justice, and the secrets that bind us, all with a hint of wry humour.

Before turning to fiction, Ryan spent forty years in IT, during which time he wrote many published articles. He brings this analytical mindset – and a well-known obsessive interest in computers – to his writing. He is also passionate about helping people use technology to find their voice and share their stories.

Outside of his books, Ryan is an active member of the Redditch Writers Group and New Street Authors, and encourages others to discover and develop their writing talents.

Ryan lives in the Midlands with his partner, is a proud father of two daughters, and a grandfather to three lively grandchildren. When he’s not writing, he’s likely fiddling with his impressive computer collection.
