Janet Pywell

Janet Pywell is an accomplished novelist and literary mentor whose career bridges storytelling, education and international experience.

A versatile and prolific writer, she is the author of the Mikky dos Santos international crime thrillers, the Ronda Georgesuspense series, and The Westbay Romance series. She has also published two collections of short stories and runs her own Novel Mentoring programme, guiding aspiring authors towards publication.

With a thirty-year background in travel and tourism, Janet has lived and worked across Spain, Ireland, and the UK, bringing a deep cultural awareness and authenticity to her writing. She founded and led her own marketing company, combining creativity with business acumen, and has travelled extensively. Her experiences continue to inform her characters and settings.

Janet holds an MA in Creative Writing from the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen’s University Belfast and has lectured on BA and MA Creative Writing programmes at Canterbury Christ Church University. She is also an experienced TEFL tutor and mentor. She is passionate about helping writers of all ages refine their craft and discover their voice.

Constantly expanding her expertise, Janet has studied with leading universities including Southampton (Shipwrecks and Submerged Worlds), Glasgow (Antiquities Trafficking), Kent (Forensic Psychology), and UEA (Introduction to Screenwriting), enriching her work with realism and depth.

Through her workshops, speaking engagements, and online community, Janet connects with readers and writers worldwide. Her energy, empathy and storytelling insight make her a natural advocate for projects that explore the intersection of personal experience and creative expression, including THE DASH OF LIFE.
